Mid Ocean Tanker Company
Mid Ocean Tanker Company (“MOTC”), is a Jones-Act shipping company. In February of 2011, Alterna partnered with minority owner, Mid Ocean Marine to purchase a distressed construction project for a medium range product tanker in Mobile, Alabama. MOTC completed the construction of the tanker and chartered it to a major trading house. MOTC successfully secured a long-term, forward charter and sold the vessel to a major U.S. MLP in 2014.
